Might be an idea to start eating prunes Ceri! My Dad had an iron infusion and struggled with miserable constipation, so get an arsenal of nice tasting goodies (dried apricots work wonders too) and hopefully you can avoid the giant bottle of Lactulose!
Good luck on Friday, hope it goes ok and you soon start to feel the benefit xx Ailsa

Hi Ceri, Yes, I had an infusion of Cosmofer iron a year or so ago when my Hb dropped to 7. It took about 7 hours, so do take a book or magazine! Side effects weren't too bad, bit of a funny taste (metallic) and I was very thirsty during and afterwards so take a bottle of water (though they do provide plenty of drinks and a snack on the day ward). I felt so much better immediately, Hb went up to 11 very quickly, so I do hope this is the case with you too. I had been very breathless and faint for a long time before they decided to do the infusion. Lots of luck and I will be thinking of you on Friday Take care, Lizx

Good luck for friday Ceri. I haven't experienced this myself so can't offer words of advice, just a friendly thought and prayer.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes and kind thoughts, all went well yesterday bit stiff and achey but thats just from sitting too long in one place I think. Hopefully should notice a difference in the next week. Hope everyone has a good weekend Love Ceri xx
